2010/2011 Flex Wednesday Schedule
Volunteer Program ALOHA!! The Volunteer Program is off to a great start this year. Thank you for using our PHS Volunteer Program! We have been assisting with the beginning school preparations, Continental belgium waffle breakfast, first day of school functions, copy requests for some teachers, IDs, AVUHSD booklet, textbook check-out, laminating, registration, recruiting new volunteers, etc. For those of you who aren't familiar with the PHS Volunteer Program; and who don't know me, I am Georgiana Alcuran, PHS Volunteer Coordinator. I just want to let you know that you only need to e-mail, call on ext. 603 or fill out the Volunteer Request Form with your request for assistance here in the copy room. I do have a cart in front of my office with room numbers on the folders for you to put your copy request. Please give a couple days notice so I can arrange volunteer assistance for all requests. JUNIOR CLASS RING ORDER: JUNIORS! It's time for your class to order their class rings. Your class ring will rank high in the commemoratives of your '2012' Graduation. YOUR JOSTENS REPRESENTATIVE WILL BE ON CAMPUS FOR YOUR CLASS RING ORDER ON: A-M Thursday, Sept. 9th N-Z Friday, Sept. 10th During Both Lunches Outside the Library ORDERING INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE IN THE ACTIVITIES OFFICE NO!! BE SURE TO LOOK YOURS OVER BEFORE ORDERING DAY. EVERY JUNIOR WILL RECEIVE A FREE HOODIE ON THIS DAY. BRING YOUR ORDER FORM AND $75.00 DEPOSIT ON THIS DATE.
Military Academy Night: Time is drawing near for the annual Military Academy Night. It is a great opportunity for students to learn about Military life, and what the Academies have to offer. It is open to all high school students September 9, 2010 at 7pm at College of the Canyons University Center. See Mr. Ybarra in counseling for more information.
Spirit Week 9/7 to 9/10! Hey Falcons! It's spirit week. Get this information down so that you can show your Falcon Pride! Tuesday is pajama day. Get out of bed and come to school in your pjs. Wednesday is stoplight day. Single people wear green. Curious or crushing wear yellow. Have a boyfriend or girlfriend? Put the stop on and wear red! Thursday is our first home football game, senior kick-off sunrise, and spirit day! Wear Green, black, and white. Friday is beach day. Wear Hawaiian prints. During spirit week all dress code will be strictly enforced so make sure your spirit follows these rules.
Calling all Video Gamers: Calling all gamers! The Video Game Club will be raising money for Relay for Life, helping to raise cancer awareness with video games. Relay for Life is Saturday September 18 at Highland High School. Before that, the club will be holding our annual fundraiser night here at Palmdale High School on Saturday September 11 from 9am to 6pm. Video games, music, anime and food will be hosted at this event. Donations are $5 at the door. This is open to any high school student only. We will also be holding our 24 hour video game marathon. Any student who raises $100 will be selected for the team, but there are only 24 slots available. At the fundraiser and relay event, our annual video game drive will take place. If you have any old, new or broken video games, systems or accessories you can donate them towards children of need. A donation can be used towards the entry fee. See Mr. Moreno in FalconTech room 362.
